I traveled from Erie, Pa. to Pittsburgh to see Dr. Sekula after I read about his education and accomplishments in neurosurgery. He had phoned me about a week before my visit to discuss my illness. When I had my office visit he remembered what we discussed and he delved further into my illness. Dr. Sekula ordered an MRI which was done that same morning. Then after that result a CT scan was ordered and completed that same day. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor. He was very considerate since I was out of town by ordering my two tests the same day. He introduced himself as soon as he came into the room. He was very pleasant and he was very kind.

Dr. Sekula is a good physician, he is kind and compassionate. His head nurse-Ann is super wonderful, she should be paid double. The staff at the hospital are very hard working and should be complimented on their hard work, little things are overlooked and dragging down the hospital.

Dr Sekula and the Neurosurgery team were all very thorough in reviewing my problem, I only wish they could have solved my condition by surgery so I would finally be done with this problem.

June 27, 2016

Dr. Sekula is beyond outstanding. In fact, it is difficult to find an adjective to describe him. All experiences were beyond "good." He is the type of surgeon that puts a hospital on the map. Explanation in advance was perfect. My son said he was the only doc he saw that came out to talk directly to family. When I came around, he was right there asking questions, etc. He immediately got me on my feet to improve my circulation and told me about my surgery. Before the end of his busy day, he came to the room to check on me and encourage to get up and walk. On Thursday, I am going to meet with a local gentleman who has hemifacial spasm and will explain all about my experience. He is afraid of the surgery and needs reassurance that Dr. Sekula is the right surgeon for the job.

Dr Sikula could not have been more prompt and courteous. And his nurse Ann was as well. Tests were arranged quickly before I left.

June 13, 2016

While I was required by the physician's office to have an MRI prior to my visit, neither the PA nor Dr. Sekula knew that I had had one the day before, and asked me if I had. This was mildly disconcerting.

June 13, 2016

I am very thankful for Dr. Sekula. When he read my special MRI he found no reason to operate. He listened attentively about my health history and gave us instructions for what to try next. Sometimes getting answers is figuring out what the health problem is not. He was courteous and allowed much time to discuss my symptoms.

Dr Sekula was amazing! So was the entire staff at UPMC Mercy. Everyone made me feel comfortable and confident about having my MVD surgery.

We had a very comfortable visit, and the doctor was completely professional.

Dr Sekula is the best I would recommend him to anyone. He has changed my life.
