Dr. Binion is very patient and listens to me intently.

March 08, 2016

Dr. Binion, as always, was always very knowledgeable and had a lot of background information related to my conditions and issues that I brought up today. He was very careful to explain everything to me in a way that I could understand and manage my care. He also made sure that I was following up with the proper specialists and that his records were also sent to those specialist.

Dr. Binion is an excellent doctor, and I am so pleased to have been referred to him. I am beginning my 5th year with Dr. Binion. He brought me through a life-threatening medical incident the beginning of 2012. Dr. Binion is the most compassionate and genuinely caring doctor I have ever met. He has been through a lot with me and my progress from when he first saw me as a patient to the present is phenomenal. I know he is renowned in his field and I am so appreciative of his knowledge with all I have gone through. We will be leaving the area soon and I am devastated; Dr. Binion will be the biggest loss of all to me. If I do not find someone near me with whom I am comfortable, I will be traveling to Pittsburgh from FL to continue to see Dr. Binion for my follow-up visits.

Dr. Binion really impressed me. He spent a lot of time with me, listened, and seemed very knowledgeable about his field. I transferred from a doctor who told me I had run the scope of the common drugs to treat microscopic colitis. He then put me on steroids because he said I had to use them at this point. The other office didn't seem to know what to do with my condition. I got a bone density test and now I have osteoporosis. Dr. Binion asked me if I had taken about 4-5 other meds that were not steroids. I hadn't, which leads me to believe that my other doctor wasn't well versed on alternative drugs to treat this problem. I also liked that Dr. Binion and I discussed foods that could control or neutralize my bile. I feel that I might be in the right hands with this doctor.

Dr.Binion is an expert in the field of Crohn's disease. He understood what I am going through on a daily basis. He explained everything in terms I could understand, listened to my concerns and gave me hope to control my symptoms with medications. I wish I came to him earlier, I could be feeling better by now. I would definitely recommend Dr.Binion to everyone with GI issues.

I drive 250 miles each way to see Dr. Binion. Dr. Binion is a brilliant doctor and a kind and compassionate man who gives me extraordinary attention and care. In addition, the entire UPMC experience, from receptionists to nurses, is gracious and caring. I have the misfortune to have some serious medical problems that require ongoing care by numerous medical practitioners and institutions, so I have perspective when I tell you that Dr. Binion's care at UPMC is far superior to all others.

Dr. Binion is always thorough and makes me feel like my health is important to him. He ensures I understand all that we discussed before I leave and address my concerns. I appreciate having him on my side.

Dr. Binion was very kind, caring, thoughtful and listened to everything we had to say. Answered our questions and made us feel better about our child's condition. I wasn't sure if he had the lab results from taking blood on the day of the visit. We haven't heard anything from the office staff. He talked to our child and made sure he knew what he wanted to work on.

Dr. Binion is an incredible doctor. Extremely smart and knowledgeable and caring. A great sense of humor and cares so much for me as his patient. He understands what I am going through as a Crohn's patient and wants me to feel better!!

I firmly believe that Dr. Binion is the best doctor I could see for my conditions. The care he provides is top tier.
