good office visit

June 13, 2017

I was referred to Doctor Berg by my PCP because I had several markers for lupus (tests done first by a neurologist and then my PCP confirmed this). At my first visit with Dr Berg he was pleasant and explained that he would have to do further blood work because lupus is a hard condition to diagnose. He gave me a prescription medicine used to treat lupus telling me it would help with any pain I might have. I explained that I wasn't having pain at the time and that I would have never known about what was going on in my body(elevated SED rated, ANA marker, etc.) if my neurologist hadn't done blood work. Dr Berg told me to make two appointments for the same day, a couple of months later (one for my health problem and one for a bone density test). When my blood work came back Dr Berg did call. At the time I thought I understood what was he was telling me but that was not the case. I thought because Dr Berg wanted me to keep taking the meds he prescribed and to return in a couple months, he was still considering the possibility that I still might have lupus. When I went for the visit a couple of months later, he did a bone density test.I then went into his office to hear the results and to find out about the lupus issue. When he came into the office he said my bones density test results were fine and then acted as if the visit was over. That is when I asked him what I had (concerning the lupus issue) he became tense and curt and said "You don't have anything"! What you do have is elevated SED rates, high ANA marker, etc". I'd been having an issue with my eyes which my PCP said might be related to the inflammation I was having so I brought this up to Dr Berg. He told me "go see an eye doctor ". I don't know what happened between the time of my first visit and when I had my last visit, but had Dr Berg treated me as rudely the first time I met him, there would never been a return visit. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr Berg listened to my concerns, examined my hands & answered my questions. He then suggested an injection, & w my permission proceeded to inject my knuckle. He also gave me a script for meds to help relieve my symptoms & provide results.
