I didn't feel that Dr. McCall offered any insight into my care, or ways to help with day-to-day living and quality of life with my disease.

I have had 2 surgeries with Dr. McCall "at the helm." I was thoroughly advised of pre-surgery recommendations as well as post surgery directives. The following are not complaints, but observations regarding discussions with Dr. McCall. At the period of time before the surgery, I was not told until the 6 week check-up that I would be needing a second, similar surgery in 6 months. I believe this should have been revealed beforehand. AFTER the 2nd surgery, I was thrilled to find out that I had gotten an implant to improve my hearing. BEFORE the surgery the possibility of an implant was NOT mentioned. I thought it odd that this would not be brought up. Dr. McCall HAD told me beforehand that he might be able to "do a little something" for my hearing, but never said WHAT--(I was thinking a hearing aid--implant did not enter my mind). I am not sure why the implant was never mentioned til afterward, but i really hope that in the future this would be done....a surprise is a surprise whether bad or good. And I also hope that the reason I was not told is that I might not understand....I am 69 yrs old, but not dumb or senile...... In Dr. McCall's defense, He explained the process to me more thoroughly at my first week post op app't.

He takes the time to explain to you. He is an excellent Doctor. I can't say how much I like and respect him. He probably saved my life with the surgery I received a few years ago. I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor.
