Dr. Whect and his staff are wonderful.

Because of an auto accident I was first treated at a trauma center. The doctor felt I would need surgery on my neck for a fracture. Dr. Wecht did not agree. He had me continue wearing a rigid neck brace. I did and it did heal. I thank God and Dr. Wecht because it healed without surgery. I was very comfortable with the treatment he recommended. He is very professional, yet very compassionate and personable.

liked the visit overall

Absolutely excellent. I have experience to compare this with, and I want to express that the care from the receptionist, physician's assistant Larry, and Dr. Wecht was exceptional.

The doctor looked at me as if he was listening closely, but I think he was amused by my choice of words. I asked him about it and he replied that he thought my choice of words was unusual to describe my symptoms. I felt embarrassed as he continued to look at me was a slight look of amusement instead of interest or concern. He then gave general recommendations towards prophylactic core strengthening exercises... which is fine, but diminishes the reason I came to the office in the first place. In fact, he suggested that I could get an MRI if I wanted to and suggested that I was the type of person who goes to doctors simply to collect data about myself... such as expensive tests like MRI data. This was insulting. I had brought a previous MRI from a similar event from 9 years ago. I thought it would be helpful to have a point of comparison with new diagnostic data? In summary, the doctor was arrogant and not as compassionate as I would have hoped as well as being dismissive. These qualities make his suggestions slightly less effective since I have less faith in the source of these recommendations.
