Very positive experience. Staff and the doctor were very thorough and I never felt rushed through my questions.

Have no problem with care provider.

February 12, 2019

I attend one of the weight loss groups, I understand its a different set up however usually the intake form is incomplete or wrong (with medications, recent surgeries, i.e.). Normally this wouldn't bother me, but the last appt. it did. I had a full hysterectomy in the summer and the dr. asked me about my last period in the shared medical session. While I have healed and processed the surgery, emotionally at times its hard. I just wish it was on my form, so I wouldn't need to talk about why someone my age didn't have a period.

He listened to my concerns and answered me respectfully.

Dr. Rometo is very knowledgeable in his field and also communicates quite effectively. I am very satisfied with the care he provides.

January 22, 2019

This was my first appt with Dr Rometo so I could not accurately answer the questions about my medical records. I'm not sure how much he has seen. Dr Rometo was extremely helpful and treated me with respect. I had not been seen by any doctor in the past year. This is my fault as I was caring for my mom who had Alzheimer's and I was her sole caregiver. I called Dr Rometo's office because an ER doctor asked if I was seeing an endocrinologist when a high reading showed up on bloodwork that was done at the ER for a kidney stone. I had no idea my diabetes was so out of control. Dr Rometo put my mind at ease somewhat while explaining to me how serious this was. I was very impressed by this entire office and happy that they gave me a same day appointment.

January 15, 2019

Dr. Romero was rude and condescending. I went to him to talk about weight loss options. He almost thought he was being cute' as he spoke. He put me down and then made a comment about the fact that he prides himself on being frank' with patients. He was more interested in letting me know how intelligent he thought he was than listening and learning about me. I made up my mind in the first 3 minutes that I would not return to him. I am almost angry at myself that I did not walk out.

January 15, 2019

He spoke down to me with a very sarcastic tone. He commented negatively on my facial expressions in reaction to his explanation of certain weight loss drugs and active ingredients. He said I would never lose the weight I had written down in my pre-appointment questionnaire. He had poor bedside manner and he humiliated me in front of an intern sitting in on the appointment. it was such a horrible experience. I still want to try the Optimize program but only if I can see a different doctor. can't stress enough how disappointed I was in this doctor. I expected more from UPMC.
