Jaideep Behari, MD, PhD is a transplant hepatologist and is certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in obesity medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is the director of the UPMC Fatty Liver, Obesity and Wellness Clinic, director of translational research for hepatology in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and an associate professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Rajasthan and completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts and University of Pittsburgh, followed by his fellowship at UPMC.

Dr. Behari’s clinical interests include nonalcoholic fatty liver, management of obesity in liver patients, NASH-related cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. His clinical and translational research is funded by the NIH and industry grants. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and The Obesity Society.
