long wait in the waiting room

great service friendly staff. Dr. explained my upcoming surgery in detail, and what outcome he expected for me. Also explained the pain medicine I would need after surgery. Very informative.

I was referred to Dr. Hughes by Dr. Singh (neurosurgery). I did not hear of Dr. Hughes, however, I did ask some friends--a friend/coworker said that her sister had recently had a procedure done by him and she spoke very highly of him. I trusted Dr. Singh's referral, do not feel I need a "second opinion"-he was very easy to talk to and actually very patient with me (I kind of jump from one thing to the next...) and explained everything to me so I could understand it-speaking to a patient, not another health professional (used vocabulary I def. could understand!), he answered my questions without hesitation....he spent more time with me than I actually thought-truly figured since it's a simple procedure, I would be in and out-but he took the time to listen and explain everything. I know that this procedure is very common (or so the condition is too) and isn't a major surgery or health concern-I left there feeling confident and happy with my apt.-he didn't treat me as if I were just another simple procedure, no big deal type of deal--I felt as if I was his only apt. that day and that no matter how simple/small the problem is-he made me feel like I was his only patient and priority that day....and trust me--I KNOW that is not the case! So, I did appreciate feeling like I mattered even with a simple/minor problem. I tell my students--(I teach second grade)--we must remember--sometimes the smallest things/gestures may be small to one person (that is "doing" the gesture, etc.) but can be HUGE to the other person. So, how he treated me and spoke with me may not have seemed huge to him (it seems like comes naturally to him to be kind and patient) actually was a pretty big deal to me. (The only procedures or surgeries I have had were tonsils (was little, don't remember), wisdom teeth (20+ yrs ago) and a c-section 4 years ago---so surgeries and procedures are not very typical or common for me--I like knowing what to expect when I go in for the procedure and appreciate he was very honest and straight forward on how he will execute the procedure. (Sorry I rambled....I normally don't...but I feel he deserves a good comment!)

February 20, 2020

It took over an hour of waiting since the start of the appointment before I got to see the provider. I could hear people outside my room chatting socially while I was waiting for so long.
