Very helpful and understanding

Dr. James is great! First impressions were so wonderful as this was my first appointment with her. I would happily come back.

February 26, 2018

She was very kind and knowledgeable of my skin condition. I would return to seek her council again.

My appointment was at 8:00 am, first one of the day. At about 8:05 a resident comes in and looked at my hand, and says it's not a wart, but just like a callous type of growth. It's no big deal at all, and I could either have it removed or not. It would all depend on me and if it bothers me or not. If they were to remove it, that would have to be at a later date. As she leaves, she tells me she wants the doctor who I have my appointment with to take a look at it. So I wait, and I wait. At 8:45, I get up and go to the receptionist and tell them I have to leave to go to work. I notice on the electronic board it says my doctor is "On time". I ask her how that can be when I was the first appointment for the day, and she was already 45 minutes late. She tells me she doesn't know what's up with the doctor. So I leave, having never seen the doctor I was scheduled to see. Four hours later, Dr. James calls me apologizing for being late saying she was stuck in traffic. She said she e-mailed the office, but they must not have seen the e-mail. She apologized and offered to see me in the future when it was convenient. I guess at some point, when I have a free morning, I'll stop over and have my hand looked at.

The doctor told me that until I stopped breastfeeding my child there was "really nothing we can do" to treat my acne. I was previously aware that treating anything while breastfeeding is complicated, so that was the very reason I came to a specialist after going to my PCP. I expected a better conversation about risks and benefits of different treatment options, but instead I was encouraged to wean my son "because he won't wean himself" and will continue to breastfeed until he's four if allowed. I was told that I wasn't actually producing milk anymore anyway given his age (I am, actually) and that it was "completely my choice" whether or not to prioritize breastfeeding or my own health. It was clear that if I chose breastfeeding then this doctor would not treat me. This is unacceptable treatment of women who are just trying to make the best and most informed choices for themselves and their families.

Dr. James addressed my concern and answered all of my questions. She also took extra time to check my skin for issues that I could have missed.

February 15, 2018

Excellent doctor, detailed, kind and respectful. She is very easy to talk with and understand. I will be back for my next skin check with her.

February 15, 2018

needed a diagnosis and solution to a painful problem. I got exactly that. very professional, available and thorough.

February 08, 2018

She was very personable while being professional. She was educational and told me more important ways I could take care of my skin in a non-judgemental way. I really like her as a provider.

I received great care from Dr. Borderline and Dr. James. Dr. James was very responsive to my follow up questions.
