Rakesh Sindhi, MD, FACS, is a pediatric abdominal transplant surgeon, board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is co-director of Pediatric Transplantation, director of Pediatric Transplant Research, and professor of surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Dr. Sindhi received his medical degree from Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. He completed his general surgery residency at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, followed by a transplant fellowship at University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Sindhi also completed an immunology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Cincinnati.
Dr. Sindhi has published 122 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has made numerous scientific presentations at national and international conferences and grand rounds. He is also a member of several professional societies.
Dr. Sindhi’s clinical interests include disease pathway, biomarker discovery for transplant rejection and end-stage disease, as well as clinical outcome analysis.
