This is my second eye appointment at UPMC and both appointments have lasted at least 2 hours. At my previous retina specialist in the state of Indiana, my eye appointments took no more than 45 minutes so these 2 hour appointments are very inconvenient and different to fit into the schedule of someone who works day shift in healthcare.

The doctor was more than an hour behind schedule but the office tried to keep me informed. I was concerned that the doctor would be rrushed and might not have time for my questions, but that was not the case.

when Dr. D found something unusual he said he didn't know what it was and would find the answer from other colleagues and other forms of investigation. He also ordered more in depth tests. I respect that. Not everybody knows everything and he proved I can trust him. He didn't play it down and didn't make me feel stupid. All of my regular tests came back great but I still had blurry vision in left eye. He took my concerns seriously. I'm quite happy with my visit.

He seemed distracted and hurried. I had an eye scan that no one explained before or after, resulting in a diagnosis of mild diabetic retinopathy. The doctor didn't explain the diagnosis and recommended that I go to another doctor for future followup.
