Dr. Patrick. Is the Best

November 04, 2015

Overall, the diagnosis the Dr. gave me and the comments he made about my concern (arthritis in both big toes) made sense to me and impressed me that he had a good understanding about my condition. However, his manner was borderline obnoxious. He brought two interns (I think) into the room with him and did not introduce either one. One had been in earlier to look at my feet and was very courteous. He was very rough when handling my feet which are extremely tender, making me jump many times. He didn't seem to notice or care that he was causing the pain. I have no complaints about his knowledge of my condition, but his arrogance was breathtaking. He spoke of surgery like it was a foregone conclusion saying that it was only a matter of time and convenience. And while I have to agree with him, he in no way helped me come to this conclusion. I felt it was being thrust upon me. Yet, even with surgery so clearly part of my future, I had to pry him with basic questions about what it would mean for my life--such as pain, recovery, daily life. He also had no interest in my lifestyle and my hopes for activities in the future. In short, Dr. Burns' bedside manner was nonexistent.

I love Dr. Burns. He is an excellent Doctor, and one of the most caring doctors I have ever visited. Run, don't walk to see him.
