I had an appointment and got called into a room 2 hours and 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The person who took me back to my room did not introduce herself, she did not verify my name and/or date of birth. She did not ask me why I was at this appointment. She did not offer why Dr. Gardner was late nor did she apologize for the lateness of the appointment. I never had a set of vital signs taken. I never had anyone review my allergies or medications. I sat in the room for 20 minutes when a Fellow finally came in an briefly spoke to me and performed a brief neurologic exam. I then waited in the room another 40 minutes until I finally walked out to find someone to ask when Dr. Gardner would be in to see me, given that it was now 3 hours and 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was told that he would be in to see me next. However 5 minutes after that, a person came into my exam room and told me that he was called to an emergency in the operating room and it was not known what time he would return. It that time, I decided to leave as I needed to get home to my children. I never ended up seeing Dr. Gardner despite being in the office for over 3 hours and 30 minutes. I never had any recommendations regarding my MRI and follow up care. I also have yet to receive a phone call to reschedule my appointment or have someone discuss my MRI results. It also should be known that while I was a patient in the hospital in June 2016 Dr. Gardner never came into to see me. I saw and interacted with a Fellow only. Prior to discharge, Dr. Gardner called me on the phone and that was the only interaction I had with him. I am a healthy care provider within UPMC system and am appalled and the service and level of care I have received by this office.

Although I was seen by a Resident Physician three hours later than my appointment time and was told the results of my test, I waited another two hours to see the Physician who repeated what I was told by the Resident. It was an exhausting experience. All were apologetic about the long wait and that certainly is appreciated.

was in office at 9:30 left at 1:30 talked to staff and doctor for a total of 20-25 minutes in 4 hours! way too long is a wait.

September 13, 2016

ray appointment was for 1:00. I arrived at 12:50. at 3:00 I was still waiting. I was told there were still six people ahead of me. I canceled and came home.

This is the first provider who allowed for an interactive discourse concerning treatment options for my particular condition. He didn't talk AT me or tell me what I should do. He informed me of the options and left the decision to me. With other providers, I have been told what to do without allowing for my opinions and concerns. This is a difficult decision, and I need to feel that my point of view matters.

I waited 3 1/2 Hours to see doctor. Very disappointed that my time was not valued or respected. My appointment was at 10:30 and didn't see Doctor till 2:00. EVERYONE in the waiting room said this is the normal for this doctor. It shouldn't be, its bordering on the ridiculous. If he wasn't the caliber of doctor I was needing I would have left.

I can't say enough about the excellent quality of care I received, from the doctor, to the office staff and the hospital nursing staff.

He explained the results of an MRI taken same day. Answered all concerns.

I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to come to UPMC and have Dr. Gardner perform my surgery. Him and his entire team treated me with excellent care. Right from my contact with Dr. Gardner I knew I was with right provider. He was clearly messaging via email extremely late at night to offer me inform and advice to help me make the best decision for my family.
