Gregory A. Watson, MD, FACS, is a trauma and general surgeon certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery. He is the associate trauma medical director at UPMC Presbyterian, the chief of general surgery at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center – University Drive, and an assistant professor of surgery and critical care medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at UPMC Presbyterian.

Dr. Watson’s clinical interests include trauma and the full breadth of both elective and emergency general surgery. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Excelsior Surgical Society, and the Special Operations Medical Association. Dr. Watson is a colonel in the U.S. Army (Reserve) with several conventional and special operations combat deployments.
