John Horton III, MD, is a physiatrist and is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine. He is an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Horton’s clinical interests include spinal cord injury, neurogenic bladder, neurogenic bowel dysfunction, and spasticity management. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed professional journals, authored several relevant book chapters, and has presented at numerous professional meetings. He is an active member of the American Spinal Cord Injury Association and the Association of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals, and he provides peer review for numerous professional publications.
