Maria Twichell, MD, is a physiatrist and is certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is the medical director of the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at UPMC Mercy and is an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency at UPMC.
Dr. Twichell’s clinical interests include traumatic brain injury, rehabilitation after amputation, and burn rehabilitation. She has published on the role of amantadine after concussion and is a member of the ABPMR and ABA.
