Dr. Alper is an excellent ENT. My children have seen a few different ENT doctors at children's, and he is by far the best.

With an ongoing or reoccurring problem, I had hoped to get more help from the doctor finding causes to the reoccurring symptoms. However, even after asking the doctor didn't seem concerned with trying to find the cause at this time.

Often we've had providers in the past that had their own agenda and really didn't listen, or worse, didn't care what was actually going on with our children. This visit was refreshing, in that the professionals listened to our concerns, and put into consideration where they fit into things and what can be done to further my child's health instead of just putting the kids into a cliche category and assuming. The interaction was empathetic and intelligent, with good information on direction and future expectation of care as far as their clinic goes for my son's health. It was perhaps one of the best clinics i've dealt with so far.

Dr. Alper and his staff have treated both my children and has always been wonderful!

Overall, he was very friendly and knowledgeable. I just felt like the examination itself was cursory and he probably spent only about 5 or so minutes with us. But he addressed the problem correctly and seemed to really care; he gave us good advice moving forward, and we scheduled a follow-up for two months from now.

we always have a great experience here.

The doctor had diagnosed our son before even coming in the exam room. I was still filling out the paperwork that contained his current health information so he did not even have the current medical complaint info. He based his diagnosis on what records existed in UPMC's system rather than listen to the history of our son's ongoing sinus problems that had been treated outside that system (by primary care). He told us what was causing the problem before even looking in our son's ears and nose and handed me papers on how to control acid reflux. When we tried to tell him that the issue he blamed was under control, he dismissed us. He also disregarded that our son is 16 years old and talked only to me as if our son was a child. He spent all of about 5 minutes in the exam room.
