July 23, 2019

Wait time communication needs work. My appointment was scheduled for 10:15. I saw Dr. Fowler an hour and 45 minutes after the appointment time. Casual conversation with the X-rat technologist was that the day was not as busy as usual, only 70+ patients that day as opposed to 100+. There was no communication of the wait and why. I work in the field so I completely understand wait time issues, however, we are all being educated on sharing the expectations to the patients. Dr. Fowler recovered in an excellent manner when he entered the room. He started by apologizing for the wait. When I said that's OK- he said " no its not OK but I appreciate your understanding". He recovered the experience in an exceptional manner. He was also sincere in his delivery- not hurried and frustrated as many of us can be when we are apologizing for a long wait time.
