Ben Miller, MD, is a pediatric hospital medicine specialist and is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is the division director and clinical services director of the Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Miller also serves as associate director of the Pediatric Residency Program. He received his medical degree from The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency and chief residency at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Miller’s clinical expertise lies in caring for hospitalized children with a wide variety of medical conditions. His research interests include curriculum development and learner assessment in medical education. He has published his work in academic journals and presented his work at national meetings. Dr. Miller is also conducting research on the treatment of bronchiolitis and neck infections. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and its Society of Hospital Medicine as well as the Association of Pediatric Program Directors.

Dr. Miller lives in a northern suburb of Pittsburgh with his wife and three daughters. He is an avid basketball player and a below-average golfer. He is also a huge fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and he serves on the medical staff for the Pittsburgh Steelers, helping to coordinate pediatric care for the children of the players, coaches, and staff.
